Create, Create, Create

We are all creative people regardless if we realize it or not. We spend ALL DAY, EVERY DAY in a state of constant creation. This creation starts with our thoughts. We, and only we, create our thoughts and these thoughts create our individual worlds. Too often we forget we are in charge of our thoughts, not the other way around. It is natural, and sometimes fun, for our minds to wander, but where they wander to is critically important. It requires practice and constant attention to our thoughts to ensure we are creating the moment, hour, day, week, month, year, and lives we want.

While creation starts with thoughts it can only be realized through action. Are we fixating on negative thoughts? Once we discover our creation has wandered off course we must act to correct our path. Are we being overrun by afflictive emotions like anger - when we realize we are angry we must act to change our response. What can be done to help the person or child next time? How can we proactively improve the situation now through our own words or actions? Embracing the anger is the path of least resistance but we will never create the world we want.

Enjoy seeing a beautiful bird? Create more of these moments by putting out a bird feeder. Stressed because of a task you have been avoiding - knock it out in part or in whole, just act! Want to be in better health? Take a walk, drink a glass of water, ride a bike. Don't worry about how many walks, just take one, right now. We can only create today - yesterday and tomorrow only exist in our thoughts.

Create, create, create. One tiny moment at a time. Our lives are not created in big, grandiose events but in our daily thoughts and actions. We must embrace our roles as creators. We create just as we breathe and often take both for granted until they're gone.
